Glass on glass mosaic workshop 12th of October, 9am – 2pm

Workshop Description:

Join us for an inspiring and hands-on “Glass on Glass” mosaic workshop, where you’ll learn to create stunning, light-catching artworks using colorful glass pieces. This workshop is perfect for beginners and seasoned mosaic enthusiasts alike, offering a comprehensive introduction to the tools, techniques, and creative possibilities of glass-on-glass mosaics.

What You’ll Learn:

1. Understanding Materials:
   • Discover the beautiful colours of glass used in mosaics, including why I always keep my glass offcuts and how to use them in a mosaic.
   • Learn how to create a glass on glass piece ready to take home. We will not be grouting this piece, the light and colours are beautiful.
2. Tool Mastery:
   • Get hands-on experience with essential mosaic tools such as glass scorers, running pliers and wheeled nippers. You’ll learn how to safely and effectively cut and shape glass to fit your design.
3. Designing Your Mosaic:
   • In this class I will have templates for you to create a beautiful mosaic. Explore principles and techniques specific to glass-on-glass designs, you’ll have the tools to create a unique blueprint for your project.
4. Creating Your Masterpiece:
   • Bring the design to life by arranging and adhering glass pieces onto a transparent surface of glass that will be framed.
5. Personalized Guidance:
   • Throughout the workshop, receive personalized feedback and support from an experienced mosaic artist and teacher. With over 14 years mosaic experience, specializing in glass, Belinda will guide you to create a beautiful mosaic.

What to Bring:

• All materials and tools will be provided. Just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Duration:

• This workshop is a five hour event, running from 9am to 2pm, with breaks for refreshments. Morning tea, tea and coffee or hot chocolate supplied.

Who Should Attend:

• Beginners to or anyone who would like to learn how to create mosaics with glass. No prior experience is necessary.

Outcome:

• By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a beautiful glass-on-glass mosaic to take home and display, along with the skills to start your own mosaic projects.
